CEDAR RAPIDS — The owner of now-closed The Fish Store, whose family previously owned Boston Fish Market, is determined to keep bringing her family’s fish tradition back for Lent.
This year, Lenore Zoll is serving up fish every Friday during Lent at Stadium Bar and Grill, 957 Rockford Rd. SW.
Zoll’s first job at Boston Fish Market started in 2000. The restaurant owned by her aunt, now known as Bostons, was sold after her aunt died in 2018. The restaurant is one of the longest-open restaurants in Cedar Rapids.

Zoll opened The Fish Store in 2020, just 11 days before the pandemic hit in March 2020. It closed in December 2020 as a pandemic casualty.
Last year, Zoll served fish during Lent at various locations throughout Cedar Rapids, through a food truck rented from Caribbean Kitchen.
"I vowed to be open for Lent every year so the community would not be without their traditions — somehow, some way," she told The Gazette.
