Culver’s switches from Pepsi to Coke

Jan. 25, 2023 5:00 am
From Cedar Rapids Facebook foodie groups to national news outlets, Culver’s is making a splash with its decision this month to switch soda fountains from Pepsi to Coca-Cola products.
It’s perhaps the most press the butter burger and frozen custard chain has gotten since its CurderBurger debuted for one day in 2021.
“This is in progress and will take time as our nearly 900 restaurants located in 26 states make the switch,” the Wisconsin-based chain said in a statement.

The restaurant’s signature root beer will remain, alongside Dr Pepper and sweet and unsweetened teas.
By volume, Coca-Cola controlled 40 percent of the U.S. retail market in the first nine months of 2022, followed by PepsiCo’s 29 percent and Keurig Dr Pepper’s 25 percent, according to Beverage Digest data.
