Cookie Walk in Amana offers more sweets

If the Cookie Staycation at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center whet your appetite, you may want to sprinkle more cookie events into your holiday festivity calendar this month.

Amana Church’s annual Prelude to Christmas Cookie Walk will feature an abundance of sweets on Dec. 3 alongside the church’s annual Prelude to Christmas Bazaar open Dec. 2 and 3.

Both events will be held at the Amana Church, 622 45th Ave., just half a block west of Tannenbaum Forest at the Festhalle Barn during the annual Advent celebration in Amana.

Participants can pick up cookie walk reservations starting at 9 a.m. on Dec. 3; the event will start at 10 a.m. Every 15 to 20 minutes, 25 people will be allowed to enter the cookie walk room.

Wearing gloves, participants can select their cookies, candies and bars from thousands available for their $30 box purchase. Each box holds about six dozen cookies and candies. The walk continues until all the sweets are gone.

Proceeds support the Amana Church’s summer vacation Bible camp, the Sunday school and local youth groups.
