A cookie chain is opening its first franchise location in Iowa soon with a soft opening on Nov. 11 and a grand opening Nov. 12.
Crumbl Cookies, a chain with locations in 32 states, will open in Cedar Rapids on the first floor of the Collins Community Credit Union headquarters at 1005 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, across the street from Target.
Alongside staples like chocolate chip and sugar cookies, Crumbl offers a menu of four rotating new flavors. For example, this week’s flavors at other locations are Key lime pie, peanut butter, Midnight Mint and oatmeal chocolate chip muffin.

Unimpaired opens dry bar in Iowa City
A new social gathering space offers the atmosphere of a bar without the pressure and complications of alcohol in downtown Iowa City.
Unimpaired Dry Bar opened on Oct. 22 at 125 E. Burlington St.
The new bar, open to all ages, offers handcrafted cocktails with zero-proof substitutes, specialty pizzas and appetizers, and all the standard bar entertainment like pool tables, darts and live music.
“At Unimpaired, we have simply created a space where you can have fun, but not at the expense of your health if you so choose,” the new bar’s website says. “A place where you don’t have to feel pressured to consume alcohol, or looked at funny for ordering something non-alcoholic. UIP is simply a place where you can enjoy the nightlife, without the hangover the next day.”
Iowa City is Unimpaired’s second location; its first opening was in Davenport.
