Kum and Go location in Iowa City closed until December 2021

Gas station being rebuilt

The Kum and Go location on 1310 S. Gilbert St. in Iowa City will not see any customers coming or going for a while.

The gas station is closed and is being rebuilt, a company spokeswoman told The Gazette. It is expected to re-open in December 2021.

The building has been completely razed. It was built in 1991 and was about 1,560 square feet, according to records from the Iowa City Assessor’s Office.

The temporary closure leaves Kum and Go with five stores open in Iowa City. The West Des Moines-based company has about 400 stores in its 11-state footprint, according to its website.
