Wayne Ginn

Chandler, Ariz.

Wayne M. Ginn, 78, of Chandler, Ariz., formerly of the Cedar Rapids area, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.
An afternoon celebration of life is scheduled for noon on Jan. 20, 2018, at Praise and Worship Center, 2551 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler, Ariz. Please join us to celebrate the wonderful life of Wayne Ginn; lunch will be served. Graveside services were held with full military honors at the National Memorial Cemetery in Cave Creek, Ariz, on Jan. 9, 2018.
Wayne M. Ginn (Uncle Wayne) was born in Austin, Minn., to Morris and Vera Ginn. He married Sandi Hilton on July 11, 1964, and resided in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, area until 1985, when he and Sandi moved to Chandler, Ariz. Wayne is survived by his wife, Sandi; a sister, Judy Newgaard of Cedar Rapids; and eight nieces and nephews and their spouses, including John and Leslie Baumhoefener, Tim and Barbie Nangle, Jamie and Wendy Baumhoefener, Mike Newgaard, David and Jeri Newgaard, Bo and Elizabeth (Lib) Stowe, Mike Doyle, and Ricky and Michelle (Shelly) Swindell.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Noeller; and nephew, Tommy Baumhoefener.
Wayne was a lifelong Iowa Hawkeye fan. After retiring, he enjoyed golf, street rodding, membership in ASRA — Arizona Street Rod Association — for many years. Wayne and Sandi traveled extensively with other members on rod runs, car shows, competitions and enjoyed other great experiences with ASRA. Wayne will be greatly missed by family and friends, and all whom knew him as Uncle Wayne, from 2 to 90 years old.
