Ryan J. Faurote, age 34, of Cedar Rapids, entered into rest Saturday July 9, 2022.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, at All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The Rev. John Flaherty and the Rev. Ken Glaser will officiate. A private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 18, at the Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Services in Cedar Rapids and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Ryan John was born March 27, 1988, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Kathleen (Lawrence) Faurote. He grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Cedar Rapids Xavier Catholic High School. While in high school, Ryan was active in Show Choir. After high school, Ryan attended college at both the University of Iowa and Iowa State University. Ryan loved the outdoors and spent time hiking and camping. Ryan worked as a camp counselor at Camp Wapsie for several summers. Ryan dearly loved his family, especially his nephews.
Survivors include his father, John (Evie) Faurote of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Eric Faurote of Plattsmouth, Neb.; and Shawn (Stephanie) Faurote, nephews, Jadyn, Maddox and Gabriel of Erie Colo.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen; maternal grandparents, Wesley and Clara Lawrence of Prarieburg Iowa; and paternal grandparents, Frank and Leola Faurote of Fontanelle, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established in Ryan’s name that will be directed toward mental health research.
