Rose Marie Welsh
Rose Marie Welsh (Hunemuller), 79, of Trenton, Mo., formerly of Guttenberg, died Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Luther Manor Grand Meadows Living Center in Dubuque.
She was born the daughter of Donald and Pearl (Bathke) Hunemuller on Nov. 8, 1939, in Bremer County, Iowa. On June 16, 1956, Rose married William (Bill) Laverne Welsh at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. This union blessed the couple with four children. The couple was happily married until Bill's death in 2012. Rose worked in various manufacturing positions in Guttenberg, which lead her to a union president position. Following retirement, the couple moved to Trenton, Mo., where Rose was on the board of directors for the Leisure Lake Association and former president of the board. Rose also was a longtime active member of the VSP Volunteer Society in Trenton. Rose treasured her time at the lake with all her friends and greatly enjoyed the watching the birds from her deck.
Rose is survived by three children, Bill and Diane Welsh of Cedar Rapids, Don Welsh of Clinton and Duke and Vickie (Welsh) Eppler of Dickeyville, Wis.; grandchildren, Brook and Alissa (Welsh) Monica of Houston, Texas, Will Welsh of Minneapolis, Minn., and Chris Welsh of Cedar Rapids (children of Bill and Diane Welsh); Nicholas and Theresa Reardon of Guttenberg, Valarie Reardon of Epworth, Matt and Carrie (Eppler) Bock of Algonquin, Ill., and JC and Kristi (Eppler) Henry of Dubuque (children of Vickie and Duke Eppler) and Jennifer, Nicole and Jason Welsh, all of Dubuque, (children of Don Welsh; great-grandchildren, Megan Reardon, Joe Johnson, Alex and Andrue Henry, Katelyn, Justin and Hunter Foshee and Brandon Fernandes; a sister, Carolyn Dawson; and many other relatives and friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Wendy Welsh; and her sister, Rebecca Hunemuller.
In lieu of flowers and all other types of sympathy, a Rose Welsh Leisure Lake Memorial Fund has been established.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg, where the family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 5. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Guttenberg City Cemetery.
