Patrick Desmond Bakke, born July 5, 1955, died unexpectedly at his home on Jan. 19, 2021.
Pat is survived by his children, Patrick Bakke (Laura), David Bakke (Alex), Meghan, Mary and William Bakke; Pat's mother, George Anne Bakke; and siblings, Robert, Mickey, Brian, Dan and Suzanne Witte. He is
blessed with three grandchildren, Brayden, Callie and Weston. He has many nieces and nephews in California, Illinois, Texas and Iowa. Pat married the love of his life, Debby, on Jan. 4, 1985.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Bakke.
Pat grew up in California and moved to Naperville, Ill., as a young adult. He worked as a design engineer at Molex and Peabody Design in Naperville, from 1987-2014. He moved to Iowa in 2014. He enjoyed the game of chess and to play frisbee and he liked nice clothes and took great pride in his appearance. He was an avid reader and loved to share with others what he was reading. His Catholic faith was important to him. He was a loyal and loving person.
The family wishes to thank Father Timothy Regan for his kindness to Pat and the mass held for him after his death. We also thank Perry Shawver his landlord and Levell his house mate for their compassion and care given to Pat especially the last few years of his life.
