Norma N. Andersen

Suttons Bay, Mich.

Norma N. Andersen, 91, of Suttons Bay, formerly of Center Point, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at in Suttons Bay, Mich., surrounded by love and care.
Norma was born March 19, 1926, to Fred and Doris (Elliot) Haars in Walker, Iowa. She attended high school in Center Point, Iowa, and married Jack Kidd shortly after graduating. She and Jack had five children together. Norma remarried Chris Andersen in September 1976 in Center Point.
She was loved by all who met her; she was everyone's mom and grandma, always ready to play a game of basketball, bake fresh cookies, create folk art from odds and ends or be a shoulder to cry on or a helping hand for strength. Norma enjoyed playing scrabble, dominos and doing crossword puzzles. She relished keeping up with politics and the state of the nation, loved reading biographies and was crazy about the Dallas Mavericks basketball team and tennis at Wimbledon.
For Norma, family always came first. As the fabric of her family, she never ceased to provide love and encouragement despite the hard times, and modeled the compassion and love that helped her children navigate through life. She instilled a love of learning in her children, who are proud and blessed to have had her as a role model. Norma's favorite times were family times. She leaves behind a legacy of love, for it was her heartfelt belief that you could never love someone too much.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Susan (John) Sobehrad of Northport, Mich.; sons, Ronald (Lisa) Kidd of Williamsburg, Va.; Gregory (Lori) Kidd of Rialto, Calif., Andrew Kidd of Dallas, Texas, and Jeffrey (Rhonda) Kidd of College Station, Texas; grandchildren, Brian, Brennan, David, Anne, Diana, Allison, Jake and Ray Kidd, Billy Muha, Katelyn Crews, Noah and Jordan Ford, and Lane and Drake Sobehrad; and 13 great-grandchildren.
