Marlin M. "Marv" Bohlen, 84, of Marion, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at Mercy Medial Center. Private family services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The service will be livestreamed at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, and may be viewed at client.tribucast.

will be a visitation from 2
to 4 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. As mandated by proclamation, social distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people to be allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields are required.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Askelson of Marion; three sons, Scott Cryder, John Cryder (Roxanne) and Rick Cryder (Barb), all of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Paul Wheeler of Springville and Marclyn Hildebrand of Nebraska; and two brothers, Wes of Wisconsin and Fred of Nebraska. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Velda and Betty.
Marv was born Sept. 9, 1936, in Gresham, the son of Marion and Meta (Ziebell) Bohlen. He married Judith Young on Sept. 8, 1976, in Iowa. Judith passed away in 2010.
Marv worked as a delivery person for Smuekoffs Department Store and retired from there after several years of service. He was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church and a member of the Teamsters Union.
Marv was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed working with leather and playing Santa Claus. Marv will forever be remembered as a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friends whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
