Marilyn Winders, 88, of Anamosa, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at Pinicon Place in Anamosa. Marilyn Frances Neuzil was born July 20, 1932, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Alice (Sommerhauser) Neuzil. She attended schools in Iowa City and graduated from City High School. She then earned her bachelors' degree from the University of Iowa. On March 10, 1956, she married Gary Winders at the First Congregational Church in Anamosa.
She was employed for many years as a secretary at Iowa State Men's Reformatory. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music and watching birds in her backyard. She and Gary loved to travel in the winters and sometimes in the summer.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gary; her children, Lary (Michelle) Winders, Anamosa, and Barb (Mike) Haeder, Cedar Rapids; grandchildren ,Timothy (Angela) Winders, Anamosa, and Holly (Brent) Eisenman, Spring Valley, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jay Winders; and her parents.
