Malone, Bonnie R.
Bonnie R. Malone, 84, of 1035 Regent St. NE, died Friday, April 9, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Private family services will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements,
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Myron) Swanson of Devils Lake, N.D., and Patti (Kent) Enderes of Bozeman, Mont.; and one son, Kelly (Marla) of Central City. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Danielle, Michelle, Angel, Shelby and Riley; 13 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Roy Sheldon.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Bonnie was born Sept. 22, 1925, in McCallsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Ervin and Beulah Christian Morris. During World War II Bonnie worked for Time Life magazine. She married Wesley L. Malone on Jan. 22, 1946, in Hiawatha, Kan. He died in 1982. Bonnie was a cafeteria hostess for the Cedar Rapids Community Schools for over 19 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed walking, bird watching and time spent with friends and family at their cabin on the Wapsipinicon River.
Memorial donations may be given to the Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation, P.O. Box 1248, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401 or to St. Luke's Hospice in Bonnie's name.
