Lois was born on July 21, 1932, in Wheaton, Ill., the daughter of Kenneth and Lena (McGinnis) McNiel. She graduated from Center Point High School. Lois worked for Bohemian Savings and Loan in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for 35 years.
