Kenneth Wayne Sanborn Sr., 81, of Pawtucket, R.I. passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Tockwotton on the Waterfront surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was a son of the late Kenneth F. and Johanna E. (Holets) Sanborn. Wayne was a manager for the Walter Allen Company before retiring. He was an Army veteran and served as a Master Sergeant with the 143rd Civil Engineering. He was an avid NASCAR Fan and raced at Seekonk Speedway. He loved to work in his garden and take care of his yard. He was a member of the American Legion, the Riverside Sportsman's Association, the Moose Lodge in Cedar Rapids and donated to many charities.
He leaves five children, Kenneth Jr. (Barbara), John (Anne Marie), Lori (David) Dias, Kendra (Samuel) Willis and Christopher Sanborn; two brothers, Daryl Sanborn and Kevin Sanborn Sr., both of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Lisa A. Sanborn and brother of the late Carole Logsdon, Ronald Sanborn and Barry Lee Sanborn.
Perry-McStay Funeral Home, in East Providence, R.I., is assisting the family. Burial will be private with military honors. There will be a Celebration of Life from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at the Moose Lodge, 1820 West Post Rd. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
