Kathleen P. “Kay” Walford, 95, of Brooklyn, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Brooklyn Community Estate, Brooklyn, Iowa. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Brooklyn, with Father Scott Lemaster officiating. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, with a Rosary Recited at 3:30 p.m. at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Inurnment will be in the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn. A memorial fund has been established.
Kay is survived by her husband of 76 years, Stanley; five children, David (Anne) Walford of Grinnell, Mark (Joan) Walford of Glencoe, Minn., Jeanne (Tom) Hollopeter of Brooklyn, Mary (Lee) Ohler of Brooklyn and Jennifer Bidler of Des Moines; eight grandchildren, Heather and Lisa Hollopeter, Amy (Nick) Arens, Lukas (Alyssa) Walford, Jakob Walford, Kristin (Jeremy) Kohout, and Lukas’s, Jakob’s and Kristin’s mother, Deb Walford, Megan Walford and Olivia Ohler; and 11 great-grandchildren, Emma, Brooke and Jessa Kohout, Chryton, Graydon and Daxtyn Arens, Hailey Henry, Charles and Margaret Walford, Oliver and Nelson Walford.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, William and Beulah Roth; and three sisters, Norma DePauw, Geraldine Burns and Marilyn Green.
