Judy Stalkfleet, 81, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, July 22, 2022. Celebration of Life Gathering: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids.
Judy was born Aug. 1, 1940, in Fayette, Iowa, the daughter of Harley and Edith (Voshell) Moore. She attended Fayette High School and went on to graduate from Upper Iowa College with a degree in business administration. Judy was united in marriage to Richard F. Stalkfleet in December of 1980. She worked for the Iowa Department of Human Services until her retirement in 2000. Judy was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Auxiliary, and Business & Professional Women Organization (BPW) where she served as the state president from 1991-92.
Judy enjoyed playing games, cards, traveling and attending Iowa Hawkeyes football games. She was very involved in political events and was a caucus precinct leader. Judy found joy in cooking and was always up for trying a new recipe. She loved teaching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Greg (Glenda) Bentley; daughter, Julie (Jack) Costello; three grandchildren, Michelle Bentley, Alan Bentley and Amanda Bentley; four great-grandchildren, Kailee Bentley, Aubrey Lown, Landen Bentley and Brinley Bentley; sister, Delores (Duane) Brandt; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Edith Moore; and husband, Richard Stalkfleet.
