Judy Gerhold, 55, of Roseville, Mich., and formerly of Atkins, went to her eternal home on June 24, 2018, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins with the Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2:45 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, also on Sunday. Private family committal services will be held at St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery. Judy Marie Gerhold was born March 31, 1963, in Cedar Rapids to Carl Henry Gerhold Jr. and Mary Caroline Rosdail Gerhold. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins. Judy graduated from Benton Community High School with the class of 1981. She later attended Concordia University in Seward, Neb. She worked in the health care field for many years. Judy was a certified nurse's technician for 10 years in Austin, Texas, and 16 years at St. John's Hospital in Warren, Mich.
Judy grew up in the Atkins area and was a former member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins, and a member of Historic Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit, Mich. She was an excellent cook and avid dog lover. She also loved to fish and especially enjoyed the many fishing trips with her twin sister, Jony.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Randy (Pam) Gerhold of Eden Prairie, Minn., Lynnette Gerhold of Cedar Rapids, Carl (Marilyn) Gerhold and Tom (Julia) Gerhold, all of Atkins, and her twin sister, Jony Gerhold of Sacramento, Calif.; six nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and -nephews with one more on the way; her aunts and uncles, Betty Stallman of Norway, Ruth Rosdail of Marion, Dennis Rosdail of Carroll, Ron Schanbacher Sr. of Newhall and Arlen and Barbara Gerhold of Atkins; her stepfather, Dave Neuhaus of Atkins; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl H. Gerhold Jr.; and her mother, Mary C. Gerhold Neuhaus.
Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
