James "Mac" McNulty
James "Mac" McNulty, 64, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 26, at home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services to celebrate Mac will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Father Ed Fitzpatrick will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project or to Iowa C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors).
Mac was born Feb. 12, 1954, in Superior, Wis., the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Whereatt) McNulty. He was a 1972 graduate of Bloomington (Indiana) High School. Mac received his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa, where he played and lettered in football for the Hawkeyes from 1972 to 76.
Mac was employed by TriCity-Henny Penny for many years. He was an avid sports enthusiast, but most important to Mac was attending football games that his sons, Ted and Andrew were participating in.
Mac is survived by his two sons, Ted of Iowa City and Andrew of Dallas, Texas: his mother, Elizabeth of Iowa City; his longtime partner and companion, Carolyn Walker of Iowa City; his cousin and best friend, Kathy Green of Farmington, Mo.; and extended family.
Mac was preceded in death by his father, Ed; and his brother, Ted.
