Gabriella Michelle Price-MacCormick
Gabriella Michelle Price-MacCormick "Gabby" was born on March 24, 1996, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She came to live with Mike and Jennifer MacCormick on Oct. 29, 1999. Mike and Jen were blessed in adding Gabby into their family through adoption on Dec. 21, 2001. Gabby passed away on Jan. 2, 2021, from complication with COVID-19. Gabby attempted to be an organ donor.
Gabby attended school in the Cedar Rapids. She loved being a Monroe Bobcat, a Kenwood Bulldog, a McKinley Bear and a Washington Warrior. Gabby was very proud to graduate High School from Washington High School and excelled under Cheryl Marsh's guidance. During her time in school, Gabby was actively involved in Special Olympics. She competed in Track and Field, Bowling and Basketball skills. Gabby was able to go to state on several occasions for Special Olympics. She loved attending these events with her friends. Gabby was very active in Circle of Friends and Work Study Programs throughout high school. Gabby came to love her classmates and teachers as family and shared many funny stories about her time with them at school. As an adult Gabby spent time in day programming and supervised living programs. She continued to build relationships and share funny stories about her day to day life.
Gabby had a love for life. She was someone that everyone remembered and felt a positive impact from knowing her. Gabby loved animals and cats were her favorite. She knew all the names of the dogs and cats in the neighborhood. Gabby has been reconnected to her favorite cats, Ottis and Oscar along with her dogs, Mac, Tonka, UPS and Bentley. Her family can picture her running in a field surrounded by all of them and laughing. Gabby will also be reunited with friends,
great-grandparents, and other family who passed before her.
Gabby continues to be loved by her parents, Michael and Jennifer MacCormick II; her sisters, Elyssa and Izabella MacCormick; grandparents, Ed and Cheryl Wiss; grandmother, Kathryn MacCormick; and grandparents, Michael and Jean MacCormick. She has many family and friends who will continue to love her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11, 2021. More details will provided once decided.
