EVERETT 'EVY' WILLIAM KUBIK
Mount Vernon

Everett "Evy" William Kubik, 91, of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Hallmark Care Center. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon, with visitation beginning at noon. Burial: Lisbon Cemetery. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.
Survivors include his stepchildren, Allan (Johanna) Nelson, LeRoy (Lois) Bair, Earl (Holly Leatherman) Bair, Larry (Ruth Mattison) Bair, Ronnie (Marcia McEowen) Bair and Darlene (Joe) Broders; 14 step-grandchildren; and many stepgreat- and great-greatgrandchildren.
Everett was born in Cedar Rapids on June 11, 1927, to Joseph and Emma (Detert) Kubik. He was a 1945 graduate of Wilson High School before serving in the Army in Korea during World War II. He married Mildred Jensen, who died in 1984. Later, he married June (Ohrt) Bair. They enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards and dancing until her death in 2013. He was employed as a fabricator at LeFebure for 39 years.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; brother, Ernest; and infant sister.
Memorials may be directed to the Lisbon American Legion Cyclops Post 109 or the United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon.
