Elvis L. Eakes, 73, of rural Williamsburg, died Friday evening, Sept. 21, 2018, at his home, just where he wanted to be.
Elvis was born April 25, 1945, in Iowa City, the son of Harley and Marguerite Eakes. Growing up in Iowa City, Elvis attended school there, including University High School. He eventually began a long career with L.L. Pelling Asphalt that spanned over 37 years. His family includes his son, Travis Eakes (Michaela Cole); his grandson, Dameon; brothers, Dallas Eakes and Wade Eakes; and his sister, Harlene Hall.
Elvis was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dawn Bream.
