Edmund Noring, 89, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Aug. 7, 2018, in Carrollton, Texas. Edmund was born Jan. 1, 1929, to Amos and Margaret (Hudrlik) Noring in Clinton County.
He was the first baby born in Clinton County that year.
Edmund was stationed in England with the U.S. Air Force in the early 1950s. Edmund attended the University of Iowa. During his life, Edmund became an accomplished piano player and enjoyed entertaining. His interests included family members and he had extensive knowledge of automobiles. He appreciated clothing and always made sure he looked very sharp, and worked in the beauty business, allowing him to live in many places throughout his working years. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh, and always could be counted on for a story or two. He was a very kind and compassionate man and will be missed by all.
Edmund is survived by a brother, E. Paul Noring of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Douglas Noring of Carrollton, Texas, and Ted (Kris) Noring of Cedar Rapids; niece, Beth (Bruce) Pleggenkuhle of Carrollton, Texas; and great-nieces and -nephews, Jill, Amy, Ben, Sam and Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret; and sister-in-law. Lois.
Private family inurnment took place at Cedar Memorial Mausoleum, Corridor of Peace.
