Diana Jean Martin, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at UIHC after a courageous battle with a cancer that was rare and difficult to treat. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, at Teahen Funeral Home by the Rev. Angela Martin. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. COVID-19 guidelines require everyone to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Diana is survived by her husband, Mike; four children, Jason (Joy) Weaver of Riverview, Fla., Adam Weaver of Norman, Okla., and Rebekkah and Natalie Martin, both of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Daniel (Mary) Wrobel of South Bend, Ind.; three sisters, Pattie Wrobel of Cedar Rapids, and Janice (Pat) Holdeman and Chris Nemeth, both of South Bend, Ind.; two grandchildren, Lucy and Molly; and many nieces and nephews.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Wrobel; and a sister, Rita Wrobel.
Diana was born April 14, 1953, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Richard and Gladys Bieganski Wrobel. She was a 1971 graduate of St. Joseph High School in South Bend, and graduated with a degree in software engineering from Rollins College. She married Mike Martin on June 27, 1998 in Palm Bay, Fla. She was a member of New Covenant Church.
Faith and family were the most important part of Diana's life. She had an incredible giving heart, and enjoyed sewing and sharing her talents with the church. Diana also had a warm spot in her heart for fostering dogs and loved the companionship she shared with them.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
