Damon Francis Braun, 33, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville. Family and friends are invited to wear purple in honor of Damon's favorite color.
Survivors include his father, Garen Braun; fiancee, Samantha Mann; biological mother, Georgia (Robert) Devereux; sisters, Rhonda (Bruce) Perryman and Kathy Conway; biological sisters, Perseus Devereux and Brook Devereux; stepsister, Kelly Sprague; nephews, Alex Smith and Alec Brockman; niece, Bailey Sprague; and his dog, Tank.
Damon was born Nov. 26, 1988, in Cedar Rapids. He will be remembered for his heart of gold, stubbornness, and desire to do things for his friends. Damon enjoyed taking things apart, but wasn't good at putting those things back together. He was good at story-telling and seemed to be busy all of the time, but not accomplishing as much as he wanted.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Jean Braun; and step-sister, Gabrielle Devereux.
