Dale E. Baines, 65, longtime resident of the Iowa City area, died Monday, March 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by much love after fighting cancer like only Dale could!

Dale Eugene Baines was born July 7, 1957, in Iowa City, the son of John and Zelma (Holderness) Baines. He married Nancy C. Shefelbine on June 18, 1983. For over 34 years he worked for IAC. In Dale’s own words, he was a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 35 years!
Dale’s family includes his wife, Nancy; their children, Tanya Peer (Josh Cole), Brian Laschke, Kerry O’Brine and Heidi Pyos; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bea Chila, David Baines (Mary), Terry Baines (Mary), Bart Baines (Pat) and Carl Baines (Sandra).
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Opal Mae, Jean Anne Doney, Jack, Fred, Gary Allen, Danny, Emil, Raymond and Charles.
A good man to many who was loved and respected by so many, enjoy your last ride, you deserve a great one.
