Cletis F. Davis, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died suddenly Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023. A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Inurnment will take place at the Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Cedar Rapids.
Cletis was born Jan. 23, 1941, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Mary W. (Cline) Davis. He graduated from high school and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1959-63. Cletis was united in marriage to Mary J. Hardman on Sept. 13, 1964. He worked for Steel Products Company in Marion, Iowa, for over 30 years. Cletis enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Davis of Cedar Rapids; children, Sheila Davis and Scott Davis, both of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Madison Davis of Cedar Rapids; twin sister, Clista (Delmar) Brown of Iowa City; sister-in-law, Sandy Davis of Martelle, Iowa; and good friend, Sue Callanan of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary W. Davis; and brothers, Robert C. Davis and Ronald Davis.
