Bruce Fowler Tarbox, 95, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. A memorial service celebrating Bruce's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion, with the Rev. Gregory Williamson officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Joan of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Stephanie Tarbox of Iowa City; stepson, Lanny Benishek of Urbandale; and friends, Steve Larson and Sonny Deke.
Bruce Fowler Tarbox was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, the son of Percy and LaVette (O'Brien) Tarbox. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. On Dec. 2, 1980, he married Joan Alice Dietrich at Trinity Lutheran Church Chapel in Des Moines. Bruce was president of North English Farmers Savings Bank for over 30 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion, or the Vinton Lutheran Home.
