Betty Ann (Enabnit) Jordan, 91, of Robins, Iowa, formerly of Portland, Tenn., died on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at the Hiawatha Care Center. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at the Toddville Free Methodist Church, Toddville, Iowa, by Pastor Tim DeVries. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Connie (Dennis) Trachta of Robins, Cheryl Scott of Cedar Rapids, Kelly (Lisa) Jordan of Lebanon, Tenn., and Klint Jordan of Portland, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Douglas, Cindy, Jason, Joshua, Justin, Jesse, Amanda, Charlie, Austin and Matthew; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Ida Pratt of Robins and Bertha Wenger of Casa Grande, Ariz.; brothers, Herman "Mundy" (JoAnn) Enabnit of Central City and Gene (Lora Mae) Enabnit of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was born on April 13, 1927, in Coggon, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Marie (Brechbuhl) Enabnit. She married Emery Jordan on Feb. 23, 1955. He died in 2010. Betty grew up in Iowa but spent much of her life in Tennessee. She worked for many years as a shipping clerk for DC Laboratories.
She will be remembered for always wearing a hat and sharing her love with her family. Betty always was concerned about others before herself. She was a great fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Twilight series. A member of the Toddville Free Methodist Church, Betty had a great faith in the Lord.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, June Arensdorf, Eileen Whitney, Nellie Ash, Margaret Scott and Helen Whitney; and a son-in-law, Thomas Scott.
