Together the couple lived in rural Norway, where they worked the family farm and Barbara made cakes out of their home. After her children were in school, she went to work for the Ox Yoke Inn in Amana, where she enjoyed working for more than 30 years.
Barbara and Ray enjoyed dancing. She liked to sew and take care of all of her houseplants. She looked forward to all the holidays, dressing up her home and herself. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren attending all of their sporting events.
Barbara was a devoted Catholic and member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, John (Linda) Schulte, Deb Wink, Connie (Gary) Deal, Mark (Lori) Schulte, Lisa (Tim) Kilpatrick and Pam (Todd) Beatty; daughter-in-law, Donna Schulte; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; son, Raymond Schulte; son-in-law, Leland Wink; and grandchildren, Melinda, Andrew and Casey.
