Williamsburg woman found dead after Iowa County fire Incident took place Thursday afternoon, officials say

WILLIAMSBURG - A Williamsburg woman was found dead after a house fire Thursday afternoon.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff's Office, dispatchers received a report of a house fire at 2631 265th St. in Williamsburg at 4:43 p.m. After the fire was put out by the Williamsburg and North English fire departments, authorities found Barbara McCune, 52, dead inside. McCune is the owner of the residence.
McCune's body has been sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office and the fire remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and State Fire Marshal.
