A candlelight vigil is planned for the Jackson family at 8:30 p.m. today outside Kennedy High School.
Kennedy staff confirmed the vigil’s time and location, 4545 Wenig Rd. NE, though it is not a school-sponsored event.
The event will take place in the north lot of the high school.

The vigil comes a day after a triple homicide on the Northeast side of Cedar Rapids for which Alexander Ken Jackson, 20, was arrested and faces three counts of first-degree murder for shooting and killing his parents Jan Perry Jackson, 61, and Melissa Ferne Jackson, 68, and his sister, Sabrina Hana Jackson, 19, in their home at 4414 Oak Leaf Court NE in the Oak Creek subdivision.
Alexander Jackson made his first initial appearance in Linn County District Court Wednesday morning and his bond was set for $3 million.
