Three arrested in Cedar Rapids ATM robbery

CEDAR RAPIDS — Two Cedar Rapids men and a Fairfax woman face robbery charges for a stickup at an ATM earlier this month.

According to Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaints, officers were called to 619 20th Ave. SW on Jan. 22 for a report of a robbery. There, police learned a man had been forced by three subjects to withdraw cash from an ATM. One of the suspects was carrying a gun, authorities said.

During their investigation, police identified the robbery suspects as Dustin T. Hansen, 20, of Cedar Rapids; Demarcus T. Metchel, 22, of Cedar Rapids; and Jesse L. Alderson, 19, of Fairfax. Hansen was the one holding the gun, police said.

All three subjects have been arrested and each face one count of first-degree robbery, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
