Police said a teenager was punched in the face during a robbery Wednesday night in southwest Cedar Rapids.
Officers were dispatched around 6:40 p.m. to 4027 22nd Ave. SW, No. 6, when the incident was reported. A 17-year-old female said she was in the living room when two men ran up the stairs to the apartment and came through an unlocked door.
She told police one of the suspects punched her in the face while the other went into a bedroom. Neither man was armed, police said.
The suspects took a PlayStation 2 video game console, a DVD player and a cell phone, with a total estimated value at $229, before running away, police said.
The victim was not transported to a hospital. She told police she did not recognize either suspect.
One suspect was described as a heavy-set black male in his late teens, around 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweat pants, a black ski mask and black shoes, police said.
The second suspect was a white male, around 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, with an average build. He also was dressed in all black.
No arrests had been made by Friday morning. Police continue to investigate.
