No damage or injuries were reported after a man fired four gunshots in the direction of another man in southeast Cedar Rapids Monday.
Four shots rang out during the lunch hour Monday. Investigators found four 9-millimeter shell casings in the middle of the 1500 block of Fourth Avenue SE.
Arron Lacey, 20, told police he had just pulled over and gotten out of a car around 12:30 p.m. when a man with a handgun got out of a gray car and shot at him. He said the suspect then got into a white car and went west on Fourth Avenue SE.
Police searched the area but did not find the suspect. He is described as a black male in his 20s with a medium build wearing jeans and a white T-shirt.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said about 10 people called police about the incident. She said the tips were encouraging as they try to find the man responsible.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Linn County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME. Anonymous tips are accepted.
