WEST DES MOINES - State regents expect to select Iowa State University's new president next week after meeting with the two remaining candidates.
University of Kentucky Provost Kumble Subbaswamy and University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Vice President for Research Steven Leath are scheduled to visit the ISU campus in Ames this week for additional interviews and public forums.
After the Board of Regents' regular monthly meeting Tuesday, regents President Craig Lang said the panel would gather at 10:30 a.m. next Tuesday for final interviews with the men. The goal is to name the new president that day, Lang said.
The selected candidate will replace Gregory Geoffroy, who plans to leave the post he's held since 2001 by Aug. 1.
