An Oxford woman was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly assaulting her husband and another woman while her children were present.
Johnson County sheriff's deputies said Mary Kathleen Wells, of 1414 Black Diamond Rd. SW in Oxford, had her 12- and 15-year-old children with her when she visited her husband at his place of work, at Overdrive Auto, 1021 Gilbert Ct., at 9:15 p.m., to find him with another woman.
According to a police report, Wells punched the man in the face, tore his shirt and struck him with a rubber hose. She also struck him with her vehicle, knocking him to the ground, deputies said.
Wells then attacked the woman, screaming at her while she struck her face and pulled her hair, deputies said. Wells also reportedly threw an unopened quart of oil at the woman, striking her leg.
Deputies said the children witnessed the "violent altercation" inside the business.
The man reportedly suffered minor scrapes on his face and neck from the metal fitting on the hose, but was uninjured after being struck with the car.
Wells is being charged with first-degree domestic assault causing injury, a serious misdemeanor; assault, a serious misdemeanor; and child endangerment causing no injury, an aggravated misdemeanor. She was being held at the Johnson County Jail Wednesday on a $7,500 cash bond.
