A Mount Vernon man faces several charges after police found drugs and guns in the home where his 2-year-old daughter lives.
William S. Angell, 29, has been charged with child endangerment, possession of firearms as a felon, possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.
Police said they found the evidence when they were dispatched around 1 p.m. Tuesday to Angell's residence, 1225 First Ave. NW, No. 23, for a disturbance.
Angell and his girlfriend, who live together at the mobile home, were there when police arrived. Authorities said a search of the mobile home turned up two shotguns, ammunition and a small amount of drugs.
"They were conducting an investigation into the disturbance, and one of the officers detected the smell of marijuana coming from one of the bedrooms," Officer Daniel Daubs said. "William gave a consent to search, and the drugs were located."
Angell admitted to using drugs at the residence where his 2-year-old daughter was present, according to a criminal complaint. He was taken to the Linn County Jail, but was no longer on the inmate roster Thursday.
Court records show Angell has previous felony convictions for second-degree theft, second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary.
