CEDAR RAPIDS - The Monster trucks are ready to do some serious smashing this weekend as Monster Jam comes to the U.S. Cellular Center in downtown Cedar Rapids for two shows Saturday and one on Sunday.
Monster Jam is partnering with the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program for a Truck and Treat Food Drive from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at the U.S. Cellular Center, 370 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids.
HACAP provides food to 123 partner agencies, including food pantries, homeless shelters, veterans programs, senior programs and others within seven counties in Iowa.
With the donation of five non-perishable food items, Cedar Rapids residents will receive a complimentary voucher to the Monster Jam show at 7 p.m. Saturday. Donations will be accepted inside the box office entrance, and there is a limit of four vouchers per family.
Driver and Oskaloosa native Tyler Menninga and Grave Digger - a fan favorite at Monster Jam - and Jared Eichelberger, driver of another fan favorite, Max D, will be on the arena floor signing autographs and taking pictures during today's event.
Everyone who donates also will have a chance to register to win four Gold Circle seats and pit passes for opening night. Other Monster Jam shows are at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets start at $15 and are available by calling 1-800-745-3000 or at the U.S. Cellular Center Box Office.
