One man died in a house fire in Waterloo early Thursday morning.
Firefighters were called to the home at 118 Shilliam Ave. just after 4 a.m. The fire was quickly extinguished, but after entering the home, firefighters found a man's body in a bedroom.
The man has been identified as Isaiah Labreaux Jr., 66, who lived at the home.
Waterloo Fire Department Capt. Mike Moore said the fire burned through the first floor of the single-family home and had been slowly burning for an extended period of time. Smoke filled the entire house.
