HIAWATHA - The Iowa Department of Transportation hosts a public information meeting Nov. 16 to gather input for an Interstate 380 study.
The meeting - which will be an open forum format with DOT staff present to discuss proposed interstate improvements - takes place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Hiawatha City Hall, 101 Emmons St. No formal presentation is planned.
The study aims to evaluate improvement alternatives for the interstate between Iowa 100/Collins Road and County Home Road/Linn County Road E-34 in order to improve safety and operations, according to a Thursday news release. The improvements are intended to accommodate increased travel demands and may also provide the benefit of supporting regional travel needs for planned economic development and land uses, the release states.
Potential improvements will evaluate capacity improvements for the interstate, a new interchange at Tower Terrace Road and reconstruction of the Boyson Road interchange.
