CEDAR RAPIDS - A 27-year-old Iowa City man is accused of a controlled substance violation after Iowa City Police say detectives located drugs and a large quantity of cash at his home.
Reports indicate that detectives went to the residence of Andre T. Jackson, of 1034 Sandusky Drive, in reference to an investigation at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night.
Once being given consent to search the home by Jackson and another resident, drugs and cash were allegedly discovered. Iowa City Police say that Jackson tried to conceal packaged marijuana during the search.
In total, Iowa City Police records indicate that detectives located over 10 grams of crack cocaine and marijuana in the residence, as well as packaging materials, a digital scale, and approximately $3,400 in small bills.
Most of the items were allegedly found hidden in various pieces of Jackson's clothing in his bedroom closet, Iowa City Police said.
Jackson was being held at the Johnson County Jail waiting to appear before a judge on Sunday morning.
Jackson now faces one charge of Class C felony controlled substance violation and one class D felony charge of controlled substance violation with intent to distribute.
