After an increase last week, COVID-19 cases are slightly down across the state this week.

To date, 864,752 people have tested positive in Iowa since the pandemic arrived in the state in March 2020, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health. The actual total is likely higher, given the availability of at-home test kits, which are not reported to the state.

In Johnson County, 120 cases were added, down from 141 the week before. Johnson County has had a total of 42,814 cases.
The state confirmed 30 deaths from the virus in the past week. Last week, that number was 25. The total number of Iowans who have died from the virus stands at 10,207.
Johnson County added two deaths for a total of 169.
Hospitalizations increased from 153 to 161, and intensive-care patients decreased from 19 to nine.
