Funeral set for Iowa Marine killed in Afghanistan
PRESTON, Iowa (AP) - Funeral services have been scheduled for an Iowa Marine killed earlier this month in Afghanistan.
Funeral services for Cpl. Zachary Reiff of Preston will be Friday morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Preston. Visitation will be Thursday at the church.
The 22-year-old Reiff was injured in a roadside bombing on Nov. 18. He died three days later.
Reiff was a 2007 graduate of Preston High School, where he played the drums in band and wrestled.
It was his second deployment to Afghanistan.
He was previously injured in July 2010 by a roadside bomb and recovered. He then volunteered for another deployment earlier this fall.
