Eastbound Highway 30 reopens after serious crash

UPDATE: Three people were hurt in a crash Friday that blocked traffic on U.S. Highway 30 in Benton County.
Eastbound traffic was blocked for more than an hour after a car and a van collided around 9:15 a.m. at the 26th Avenue intersection near Newhall. A state trooper on the scene said three people were injured, but no fatalities had been reported.
Two ambulances left with lights and sirens running, and a third patient was loaded into an air ambulance that landed on the highway. Information about the severity of their injuries were not immediately available.
Troopers reopened the highway for eastbound traffic around 10:20 a.m.
