Cedar Rapids man accused of break-in, scissors threat

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man is accused of breaking into his ex's residence and threatening her with a pair of scissors.
According to Cedar Rapids police, around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, 30-year-old Kendall C. Johnson kicked in a door of a residence in the 200 block of Harnett Street NW. A Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint said Johnson threatened the female resident - his former girlfriend - with a pair of scissors and held her against her will for an hour. The woman was not injured and Johnson fled the residence.
A warrant was issued that day for Johnson's arrest.

With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, police found Johnson in the area of the Westdale Court Apartments around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Police said Johnson tried to flee on foot, but was caught by officers. He was arrested and faces charges of first-degree burglary, false imprisonment, assault with a weapon for the incident on Harnett Street and interference with official acts for attempting to flee from officers.
