CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A mother and grandmother face charges after a toddler was found in a nightgown outside a Cedar Rapids home.
Police found the girl late Saturday night. She led police to the home she'd left. Police say officers entered the home when no one came to answer the door. They say they found the toddler's grandmother, 47-year-old Virginia Moore, in the attic with some marijuana.
Police say Moore said she didn't know her granddaughter was supposed to be at her home.
Moore's daughter, Marlena Pfeiffer, told officers that she'd text-messaged Moore about watching the toddler.
Moore is facing a possession charge. Pfeiffer faces a charge of child endangerment.
Phone listings for them could not be found. Online court records don't list the names of Moore's or Pfeiffer's attorneys.
