GREEN BAY, Wis. - Erik Foley and Hugh McGing broke a tie with goals 1:03 apart midway through the second period as the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders won their sixth straight game, 5-2, Saturday night over the Green Bay Gamblers.
Cedar Rapids is 9-1 for 18 standings points, tops in the United States Hockey League.
Alec Marsh and Jiri Fronk scored to give the RoughRiders a 2-0 lead after a period, but Green Bay tied things against winning goaltender Ryan Larkin with goals from Brian Bowen and Christopher Brown just 1:27 apart in the second. Foley gave his team the lead right back at the 9:23 mark with a goal assisted by Dylan McLaughlin.

McGing got his first USHL goal to restore a two-goal lead. Andrew Gaus scored into an empty net with 50 seconds to go for the final margin.
Making just his second USHL start, Larkin improved to 2-0 with a nice 34-save performance. Cedar Rapids has a three-game weekend upcoming, playing Friday night at Sioux Falls, hosting Fargo the next night, then traveling to Bloomington the following night.
