Iowans in the minors and Major League Baseball

Here is an updated look at how local, Gazette-area and former Iowa Hawkeyes players are doing in the affiliated minor leagues and the major leagues. Statistics are through Friday.

A couple of notes:

Former Cedar Rapids Jefferson prep Spencer Van Scoyoc has been placed on the 60-day disabled list of the high-Class A Jersey Shore BlueClaws (Phillies). He’s a pitcher.

Former Mount Vernon High School and University of Iowa pitcher C.J. Eldred has been placed on the 60-day DL of the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Royals).

Nick Allgeyer (Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Threw 5 1/3 shutout innings in his last start for Triple-A Buffalo. Left-handed pitcher is 2-2 with a 5.54 earned run average in eight starts this season.

Tyler Cropley (Iowa/Kansas City Royals) — The catcher remains on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Is 1 for 8 in four games this season.

Matt Dermody (Norwalk/Iowa/Chicago Cubs) — Has pitched in eight games, five starts, for Triple-A Iowa. Has a 2-2 record and 4.31 ERA. Has walked just six in 31 1/3 innings.

Nick Gallagher (Iowa City West/Iowa/Cleveland Guardians) — Pitcher has been assigned to extended spring training. Had no record and a 12.46 ERA in seven relief appearances for Double-A Akron.

Grant Judkins (Pella/Iowa/Oakland Athletics) — Right-handed pitcher is on the injured list for low-A Stockton. Has made three starts with 1-0 record and 4.40 ERA, striking out 17 in 14 1/3 innings.

Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Picked up his first victory of the season this week, in his first appearance as a reliever. Is 1-5 with a 6.37 ERA in eight overall appearances, seven starts. Has allowed 35 hits in 31 1/3 innings, with 26 strikeouts.

Mason McCoy (Iowa/Seattle Mariners) — Shortstop has played in 29 games for Triple-A Tacoma, with a .242 batting average, two home runs and 12 RBIs.

Cole McDonald (New Hampton/Iowa/Houston Astros) — Pitching for high-A Asheville. Has 0-1 record and 7.27 ERA in seven appearances, one start. Has 27 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings.

Robert Neustrom (Sioux City North/Iowa/Baltimore Orioles) — Outfielder had a grand slam in a game this week for Triple-A Norfolk. Hitting .243 in 37 games overall, with six homers and 21 RBIs.

A.J. Puk (Cedar Rapids Washington/Oakland Athletics) — Lefty continues to shine out of the A’s bullpen. Has 1-0 record and 0.52 ERA in 13 appearances. Has allowed just 11 hits, three walks and one run in 17 1/3 innings (a 0.81 WHIP), with 17 strikeouts.

Brady Schanuel (Iowa/Milwaukee Brewers) — No record and a 6.30 ERA in eight relief appearances for high-A Wisconsin. Has 16 strikeouts in 10 innings.

Scott Schebler (Cedar Rapids Prairie/Colorado Rockies) — Outfielder had a 3-for-5 game Friday night for Triple-A Albuquerque. Has a .261 batting average with six homers and 19 RBIs overall this season for the Isotopes.

Connor Van Scoyoc (Cedar Rapids Jefferson/Los Angeles Angels) — Righty starting pitcher has a 2-2 record and 7.16 ERA in seven starts for low-A Inland Empire. Has struck out 40 in 32 2/3 innings.

Trenton Wallace (Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Pitcher is 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in four appearances, one start, for low-A Dunedin. Has struck out 13 in 10 2/3 innings.

Keaton Winn (Pekin High School/San Francisco Giants) — Pitcher has made six starts and eight appearances for high-A Eugene. Has 1-1 record and 5.23 ERA, allowing just 16 hits in 20 2/3 innings, with 33 strikeouts.
