Here is an updated look at how local, Gazette-area and former Iowa Hawkeyes players are doing in the affiliated minor leagues and the major leagues. Statistics are through Friday.
This list does not include the eight players recently signed by major league clubs, seven of whom were taken in the recent 2022 MLB Draft.
Those seven are former Iowa Hawkeyes players Adam Mazur and Dylan Nedved (San Diego Padres), Peyton Williams (Toronto Blue Jays) and Duncan Davitt (Tampa Bay Rays), former Dubuque Wahlert prep Tommy Specht (Texas Rangers), former Cedar Rapids Prairie prep/Kirkwood Community College player Levi Usher (Kansas City Royals) and former Lisbon prep/Kirkwood Community College player Austin Krob (San Diego Padres). Former Hawkeyes pitcher Ben Beutel signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago White Sox.

Nick Allgeyer (Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Pitcher began the season as a starter for Triple-A Buffalo, but has pitched pretty exclusively out of the bullpen of late. Has a 2-4 record and 4.85 earned run average in 21 appearances, 12 starts.
Tyler Cropley (Iowa/Kansas City Royals) — Catcher is hitting .203 in 59 at-bats for Double-A Northwest Arkansas, with a home run and three RBIs.
Matt Dermody (Norwalk/Iowa/Chicago Cubs) — Has a 6-3 record and 3.94 ERA for Triple-A Iowa Cubs. Has made 19 appearances, including 13 starts.
Jack Dreyer (Johnston/Iowa/Los Angeles Dodgers) — Pitcher has made seven appearances in his pro career, has no record and 1.13 ERA in eight relief appearances for Rookie-level FCL Dodgers, striking out 10 in eight innings. Has not pitched since July 8.
Nick Gallagher (Iowa City West/Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — He has continued to shine at low-A Kannapolis since the White Sox signed him following a release by the Cleveland Guardians. Righty pitcher hasn’t given up an earned run in nine appearances spanning 9 1/3 innings and has a save. Has allowed just three hits and struck out 16.
Drew Irvine (Waukee/Iowa/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Pitcher is 2-1 with a save and 1.46 ERA in seven relief appearances for Rookie-level FCL Pirates.
Grant Judkins (Pella/Iowa/Oakland Athletics) — Right-handed pitcher has been on a run of late, giving up just one unearned run over 16 2/3 innings in his last three starts for low-A Stockton. Is 3-2 with a 4.14 ERA in 12 games overall, including 11 starts.
Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Has gone at least six innings in each of his four July starts, continuing his upswing. Has 3-7 record and 4.55 ERA in 19 appearances overall, including 17 starts.
Mason McCoy (Iowa/Seattle Mariners) — Infielder had a nine-game hitting streak snapped Friday for Triple-A Tacoma. Hitting .238 overall in 80 games, with nine homers, 32 RBIs and 13 stolen bases.
Cole McDonald (New Hampton/Iowa/Houston Astros) — Righty pitcher is 1-4 with a 7.92 ERA at high-A Asheville in 19 appearances, five starts. Has 70 strikeouts in 44 1/3 innings.
Ian Moller (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Catcher has played in 37 games for low-A Down East Wood Ducks, hitting .158 with two home runs and 10 RBIs. Has walked 30 times and stolen 12 bases.
Robert Neustrom (Sioux City North/Iowa/Baltimore Orioles) — Outfielder hitting .237 in 65 games for Triple-A Norfolk, with 12 doubles, 12 homers and 42 RBIs.
Ben Norman (Des Moines Roosevelt/Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — Outfielder played a handful of games in Rookie-level Arizona Complex League, then got moved up to high-A Winston-Salem, where he’s hitting .295 in 24 games, with seven home runs and 19 RBIs.
A.J. Puk (Cedar Rapids Washington/Oakland Athletics) — Lefty reliever hasn’t given up a run in his last eight appearances for Oakland and has two saves in that span. Is 2-1 overall with a 2.13 ERA in 38 appearances. Has given up 32 hits in 42 1/3 innings and struck out 44.
Evan Reifert (Wilton/Tampa Bay Rays) — Pitcher was acquired in an offseason trade from the Milwaukee Brewers. Has spent time at three levels this season, and is currently at high-A Bowling Green, where he is 3-0 with a save and 0.00 ERA in seven relief appearances. Has struck out 15 in 9 1/3 innings.
Brady Schanuel (Iowa/Milwaukee Brewers) — Has made 21 relief appearances for high-A Wisconsin and has an 0-1 record and 4.80 ERA. His peripheral numbers are interesting: 18 hits allowed but 33 walks in 30 innings, to go along with 38 strikeouts.
Connor Van Scoyoc (Cedar Rapids Jefferson/Los Angeles Angels) — Starting pitcher has really put it together after a rough first two months of the season with low-A Inland Empire. Has won his last three starts and pitched at least six innings in all of them. Season numbers are a 7-4 record and 4.66 ERA in 18 starts. Has allowed just 73 hits in 83 innings and struck out 100.
Trenton Wallace (Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Southpaw pitcher has made a couple of starts for high-A Vancouver after being promoted from low-A Dunedin. Has given up three runs in 6 2/3 innings, with 11 strikeouts.
Keaton Winn (Pekin/San Francisco Giants) — Pitcher has 1-2 record and 2.67 ERA in six starts since being promoted from low-A San Jose to high-A Eugene. Has recorded 29 strikeouts in 27 innings.
